Spring Ranch Wedding with a Surprise Snowfall

This western-style, ranch wedding was touched with a beautiful spring snow that created an unforgettable weekend for Amanda, Ben, and their guests.

Amanda and Ben’s wedding weekend took place at C Lazy U Ranch, a functioning luxury dude ranch with over 100 horses on property. Complete with luxurious accommodations for 90 guests, each part of the celebration took place right on the property, which their guests had sole access to for the duration of the weekend.

Thursday

Western charm was in full swing as the festivities kicked off on Thursday with a hoedown style welcome dinner. The ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’ theme was embraced by all, and the attire did not disappoint!

Guests gathered at the ranch’s main lodge, danced to live music, and enjoyed the crisp mountain air while getting cozy by the fire. Ranch hands assisted guests in making an A+B brand into pieces of wood, a unique wedding memento very on-brand with the theme of the weekend. The s’mores were a big hit, especially for the couple’s twin daughters who would be their flower girls.

Friday

What began as a fresh spring soiree quickly turned into a winter wonderland as the breathtaking Rocky Mountains received an unexpected snowfall.

Not to be deterred, the second day of Amanda and Ben’s wedding weekend continued as planned. Guests were still enthusiastic and eager to enjoy all the outdoor fun C Lazy U Ranch offers, including horseback riding, trap shooting, fishing, and the cowboy spa.

Following the couple’s rehearsal, a delicious world class dining experience was served in the ranch’s cozy lodge. As the moon rose on the eve of their wedding, the falling snow and chilly temperature outside were no match for the the love emanating from the warm, jubilant gathering inside.

The Wedding Day

With remnants of snow still left on the ground and a strong chill in the air, the couple opted to enact their carefully chosen backup plan and move the ceremony and reception to the barn. To accommodate both the ceremony and the reception, the team at Bello & Blue flipped the barn and created a warm, rustic, and intimate setting.

Amanda chose a beautiful layered tulle wedding gown that she accessorized with a white fur jacket to complete her transitional winter to spring look.

Not to be outdone by the two precious angels walking down the aisle as flower girls, Amanda’s brother put an interesting twist on his role of “flower man” by trading in his flower petals and tossing beers to the elated crowd. Oh, and did we mention the groom made his own dramatic entrance on horseback?

For the reception, the couple personalized the tablescape by selecting linens with neutral, Pendleton inspired patterns. Unique charger plates brought in an exciting pop of turquoise that perfectly fit the fun, Western vibe and paired nicely with the natural tones and soft blush.

The couple danced the night away, the joy and illumination of their sparkler exit was second only to the spark of their love in the wake of a perfect wedding weekend at C Lazy U Ranch.
